Set metered connection for standard users – Windows 10

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2443639

According to ‘answers.microsoft.com’, the connection can be set to metered using the cmd window. Type cmd into the Search box, then type or copy paste this into it:

netsh wlan set profileparameter name=”TheSSIDOfTheWiFiConnectionToBeAltered” cost=fixed

(using the name of your wifi connection).

To change it back, change cost=fixed to cost=unrestricted

To see what the setting is before and/or after, type or copy paste this:

netsh wlan show profile name=”TheSSIDOfTheWiFiConnectionToBeAltered”

Look at ‘Cost Settings – Cost’
