Extract easily a video clip keeping the original format with avconv

http://www.xormedia.com/extrct-a-video-clip-on-the-command-line-using-avconv-or-ffmpeg/

avconv -i long-video.mp4 -ss <start-time> -t <duration>  -codec copy funny-clip.mp4
avconv -i long-video.mp4 -ss 00:32:15.12 -t 00:00:48.25  -codec copy funny-clip.mp4
In 00:32:15.12, number ’12’ is referred to the ft. They aren’t tenths of a second.
In order to get the exact time cut, I had to put’ -i <inputfile>’ just after ‘avconv’
